What is Cruelty Free?
Is it really Cruelty-free?
Hundreds of thousands of animals across the world still go through painful experiments to test cosmetics, household products, toiletries and their ingredients. Household products covers a whole range of items including washing up liquid, air freshener, furniture polish, bleach and laundry detergent.

Official figures from European Union countries show that 5,571 animals were used in 2005 alone, but the BUAV estimates that the true figure may be nearer 10,000 given that some cosmetics ingredients may fall under other categories or animals go uncounted since the EU definition is narrower than people realise and does not include ALL animals used in laboratories. We at Your Natural Beauty Store, along with many others, believe that this is completely unnecessary and there are many glamourous and good quality Cruelty Free alternatives on the market and you can find a wide range of them here.
Many products say that they have not been tested on animals but it’s not that simple. Sometimes it may mean that the finished product has not been tested on animals but the ingredients may have been tested on animals. To be completely Cruelty free can sometimes be complicated but we have tried to make it easy for you by checking our products and the companies before we sell them. The BUAV (British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection) have a Cruelty-free list of companies and retailers and PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has too.
